SSL Certificates are more important now than they ever have before.
What is the purpose of having an SSL Certificate?
As I have been telling my clients over the last year, the importance of having an SSL Certificate.
There are a number of advantages of adding an SSL Certificate to your site. These advantages include improved customer-visitor trust, security against phishing, improved SEO rankings and the ability to accept orders. The disadvantages? It cost a few bucks to obtain one.
A very small price to pay for improved ranking and customer confidence.
While these advantages may not have been enough for you to add an SSL Certificate to your site, a major Google update should be a big enough reason now.
Beginning in July 2018, Google Chrome will mark all HTTP sites as “not secure”. In other words, if you don’t have an SSL Certificate for your site, the browser bar in Chrome will say your site is not secure.
Plus not to mention, Google will simply rank your website lower due to it being listed as non-secure.
So, my advice. Get the SSL Certificate. It’s the smart thing to do, for your website and customers.
It’s all part of the price in doing business and going without it, could cost you lots of potential customers, SEO rankings, website traffic, and customer confidence.
SSL Certificates are well worth the weight in gold.
